Framed "Sisters" Layout

I finally finished this layout of two sweet sisters meeting for the first time. I love pictures, but I especially love scrapping those sweet moments captured by the camera. The pictures in this layout are of the meeting of a new sister. I love the wonder on big sister's face. These little girls belong to a friend of mine from church. I knew as soon as I saw these pictures that they should be framed, and so this became my gift instead of new baby clothes, toys, or diapers. Maybe I'm just a real sap when it comes to pictures and people... but... isn't that what makes a scrapper? (at least sometimes.. :) ? ) Ooh, and I played with the ribbon and ruffling this time, which I haven't tried before, and I think I'm hooked already..

  1. I like the ruffling - gonna have to remember to try that one day. How did you do it?

  2. Thanks you :) Alayna, the ruffling I just started making the little tucking it under itself and using glue dots, then continued on as far as I liked... it's actually easier than I thought it would be, some people use staples, but I don't like the staple look.. this looks prettier to me than a bunch of staples stuck on all my ribbon.. but that's a personal like/dislike- I know the staples are a "look" on their own...

  3. Wonderful, balanced layout, I love how you used the corner thingy's...and the sewing. Sigh. I wish I could thread the bobbin on my old unused machine, but everytime i try it drives me crazy!

  4. Jessica- I hand stitch (because I don't have a machine... it is relaxing, but also takes F O R E V E R .....) I love the way stitching looks though... and I've never claimed to be a time effective scrapper.. :) Thank you so much for the kind words- I used a sketch from Pagemaps, or somewhere.. that I'd printed out, so it was someone else's balancing.. but it worked out.. Thanks again! :)
